The Newark Campus Development Fund, the Thomas J. Evans Foundation and the Gilbert Reese Family Foundation are hiring an assistant director. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is excited to hold a position that brings a great variety of work on a daily basis. This role supports a public charity and two private foundations.

A few examples of the types of exceptionally rewarding projects our team has had the opportunity to be a part of over the last 10 years include collaborating with our partners at the Newark campus of Ohio State Newark and Central Ohio Technical College to fundraise for capital projects and scholarships, leading the construction and development of the Canal Market District, planning for and managing the renovations at Everett Park in Newark which included a 16,000+ poured concrete skatepark, community garden, and a variety of other amenities, and to serve as the neutral convener for FRAMEWORK, a multi-jurisdictional planning project.

The assistant director will be responsible for the following:

Donor Acquisition and Stewardship
• Collaborates with Executive Director and partners on the Newark campus to develop strategies for identification of prospects, engaging new donors and strengthening relationships with existing donors.
• Generates the annual NCDF Impact Report publication managing content generation, design, feedback and approval process, and implementation.
• Processes gifts in Blackbaud Raisers Edge including generation of pledge reminders, gift acknowledgements, and report generation.
• Prepares annual scholarship donor packets, compiling student acknowledgement letters, and endowed fund details.

Community Relations
• Serves as a liaison within the community.
• Represents the organizations by attending events, making presentations, and participating in community collaborations.
• Communicates with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organizations.

Research
• Conducts extensive research utilizing a broad range of tools including OnTrac, Licking County Recorder’s website, extensive historic paper files, and other public records.
• Gathers research on issues and presents information in a clear and organized fashion for decision making.
• Works to digitize historic files for timeless recordkeeping.

General Administrative Support
• Creates, manages and updates website content.
• Supports special projects the organizations initiate or support within the community.
• Tracks and researches leases, deeds, property taxes, and proof of insurance for foundation properties.
• Files tax exemption requests for new foundation properties.
• Serves as a welcoming host to trustees, donors, property tenants, community members, and organizational partners.
• Stays apprised of notable events and accomplishments in the community, and coordinates handwritten notes with the Executive Director to those individuals and entities.
• Provides support for annual maintenance on the historic Pennsylvania Train Station.
• Coordinates annual community volunteers to perform annual maintenance on sculptures.
• Maintains records for more than 200 parcels including lease, deeds, easements, etc…
• Manages process to ensure all lease holders provide proof of insurance and are current on property taxes.

Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tell impact stories
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Transparent and high integrity work ethic
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, program development and task facilitation
• Strong technical skills with the ability to learn and manage a donor software system or comparable contact management tool; Blackbaud Raisers Edge experience a plus
• Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
