Marketing Director
Reports to: Executive Director

Position Overview:
The Marketing Director at United Way of Licking County is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives to enhance brand awareness, community engagement, and donor support. This role ensures consistent messaging, effective storytelling, and strong digital and print media presence to promote United Way’s mission, programs, and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Branding
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and branding strategy that aligns with United Way’s mission and goals.
- Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels, including print, digital, and event materials.
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, annual reports, newsletters, and impact stories.
Communications & Public Relations
- Craft compelling messaging to engage donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and the community.
- Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, and community announcements.
- Serve as a spokesperson for United Way when needed and build relationships with local media outlets.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Manage and grow United Way’s social media presence across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- Develop and execute digital campaigns, including email marketing, website content, and online fundraising initiatives.
- Track and analyze social media and digital marketing metrics to optimize engagement and outreach.
Event Marketing & Campaign Support
- Lead marketing efforts for United Way’s annual campaign, fundraising events, and special initiatives.
- Support donor engagement through targeted marketing strategies and storytelling.
- Develop promotional materials, sponsorship packets, and presentations to support fundraising efforts.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Collaborate with community partners, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to amplify United Way’s mission and programs.
- Support volunteer recruitment efforts through targeted outreach and communication.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, donors, and corporate partners.
Project Management & Budgeting
- Oversee marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies and return on investment.
- Manage external vendors, including graphic designers, printers, and media consultants.
- Maintain an organized content calendar and ensure timely execution of campaigns.
Marketing Committee Leadership
- Establish, lead, and manage the Marketing Committee, ensuring alignment with United Way’s strategic marketing goals.
- Recruit and engage committee members, including board members, volunteers, and community partners.
- Organize and facilitate regular committee meetings to discuss strategy, upcoming campaigns, and outreach efforts.
- Work collaboratively with the committee to enhance brand visibility, donor engagement, and public relations efforts.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience or equivalent
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Proficiency in Canva, Adobe, graphic design, Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software (Salesforce preferred), basic knowledge in photography preferred.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Passionate about making a difference in the community.
- Demonstrates the ability to process and handle confidential information.
- A valid Ohio driver’s license. Local travel is required.

- Ability to work before/after regular hours in connection with campaign presentations, assigned events, and other duties & assignments.
