Groundskeeper - temporary position
The OSU/COTC Newark Campus is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Temporary Grounds Keeper. Under the general direction of a supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all outdoor grounds and landscaped areas on campus.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform general groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, and mulching.

Maintain walkways, parking lots, and outdoor common areas, ensuring they are clean and safe.

Assist with seasonal landscaping work such as planting, pruning, and leaf removal.

Operate and maintain outdoor equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).

Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or equipment issues to supervisor.

Support event setup and cleanup as needed.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance is a plus.

Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision.

Physical ability to perform outdoor manual labor in various weather conditions.

Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to safety.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends may be necessary based on campus needs or special events.
Compensation:
Hiring range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
