Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from four (4) year college or university; and two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training; a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be at least 21 years of age. 
Hours:          Full-Time, 40 hours per week varies during core business hours of 7:00AM – 5:00PM
Salary:           $35, 360 - $41,600 annually
Manages and oversees the Transit Operators and the Transportation program of the Licking County Transit Board.     Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws pertaining to public transportation.  Identifies areas of improvement and recommends changes to the General Manager.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
  • Ensures assignments are complete, provides training and evaluates employee performance; receives and resolves employee issues according to established guidelines along with General Manager; approves timesheets and leave requests; issues corrective action as necessary.  Interviews and hires candidates for employment.  Actively involved in employee and/or labor relations.
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions and customer service support functions to ensure efficient operations of the County transportation program.  Makes administrative decisions on behalf of the General Manager regarding Transit Operators and the County transportation program in his/her absence.  Reviews current policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and effectiveness; recommends revisions to policies and procedures; verifies, researches, compiles, and analyzes information and prepares reports and/or recommendations. 
  • Monitors and oversees Transit Operator’s schedules. 
  • Communicates to Transit mechanics any repairs and maintenance issues with buses immediately.  Ensures buses are provided to the mechanic for scheduled PMI’s. 
  • Reports to General Manager immediately any accidents or incidents with passengers, buses, equipment, etc.; Visits accident sites to evaluate; ensures the necessary forms and reports are completed regarding the incident. 
  • Communicates to the Transit Bus Detailer via Dispatch Office any immediate cleaning/disinfecting needs.  
  • Ensures Transit Operators are complying with all laws pertaining to public transportation. 
  • Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed pertaining to the Drug and Alcohol program.  Escorts transit operators for testing.  (Random, Post-accident, Reasonable Suspicion, etc.)  Assists with federal reporting of the Drug and Alcohol Program.
  • Assists with General Manager in completing grant requirements annually for funding. 
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
  • Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
