Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. Service area knowledge preferred.
Hours:          Full-Time, 40 hours per week varies during core business hours of 7:00AM – 5:00PM
Salary:           $13.00 per hour
Services, prepares and cleans Transit buses for the next day’s route assignments. Identifies areas of improvement and recommends changes to Transportation Supervisor.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
  • Performs the following to Transit buses:  Cleans, disinfects, sweeps, shampoos carpeting, paints and vacuums.  Wipes down interior and exterior of the vehicles as necessary.   Hand washes or drives buses through automatic bus washer. 
  • Ensures safe and clean vehicle condition at the start and end of each shift.  Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work area. 
  • Follows all safety policies, procedures and guidelines. Reads and understands SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and labels on chemical product containers.
  • Monitors inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment.  Reports to Transportation Supervisor for ordering purposes. 
  • Takes out trash and removes any items left on bus. 
  • Communicates to Transportation Supervisor for any maintenance needs.  Assists with minor repairs and aesthetic repairs with approval and oversight of Maintenance Manager. 
  • Observes Pre and Post Driver Vehicle (DVI) Reports and report any issues to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Occasionally operates transit buses on roadways to deliver or pick up buses to and from various locations.    
  • Ensures safety measures are in place for transit buses; Ensures equipment is secured and safe before operation.
  • Documents the course of the day regarding maintaining the buses. 
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
  • Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
