Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
 
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):
Ability to be covered under the county fleet vehicle liability insurance policy.
Ability to read and understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
 
Hours:          Core Business Hours:  7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (scheduled 8 hrs/day), other hours as necessary
Salary:           $15.50 / hour
 
Summary:
Performs general maintenance 
on buildings, equipment, and grounds of County-owned or controlled properties by performing the following duties. 
 
Duties:        
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
  • Performs basic electrical and lighting functions (e.g., changes ballasts and lamps, bends and installs conduits, wires simple switches and outlets).
  • Performs basic carpentry functions (e.g., framing, drywall installation, drywall finishing, and simple furniture repair).
  • Performs basic plumbing functions (e.g., repairing leaky faucets, unplugging toilets and drains, installing copper and PVC pipe, and replacing flushometers).
  • Operates power tools (e.g., drills, saws, planers, shapers, power washers, mowers, trimmers, etc.).
  • Paints walls, ceilings, and furniture with brushes and rollers using ladders and scaffolds.  Moves furniture and other related items.
  • Performs routine maintenance on vehicle and equipment (e.g., removes and replaces fluids and filters, changes belts, lubricates parts, add fuel, etc.).  Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on both mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Cleans snow and debris from the sidewalk; spread salt on walkways and driveways.
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
  • Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
