Senior CNC Programmer

Summary

The Senior CNC Programmer is responsible for creating and updating existing CNC programs for all areas of TSMD. The programmer will utilize NX CAD/CAM and other software applying Macro B logic and probing routines to automate setup and other machine functionality. The Senior Programmer works with NPD Engineers, Process Engineers and R&D Technicians developing machining processes and tooling for new materials and part configurations. Also provides manufacturing support for all programming and machining issues.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the NX and Edgecam CAM software for generating CNC programs.

• Utilize Renishaw probing and Macro B routines.

• Support NPD Engineering.

• Provide new CNC programs for all areas.

• Create and maintain changes to set-up sheets for manufacturing.

• Define and purchase new tooling as required for new jobs.

• Test tooling and develop machining parameters.

• Update existing CNC programs per change orders.

• Support employee suggestion system.

• Support manufacturing during the CNC program prove out process.

• Support machinist and machine operators.

• Be active participant on a machining methods team focusing on reducing cycle time while improving cost and quality.

• Maintain master program files per established procedures.

• Develop machining processes.

• Other related duties.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.  Technical training is desirable.

• 5+ years machining experience.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience programming CNC machine tools.

• Proficiency in computer utilization, including the use of CAD/CAM software, MS Office.

• Must have ability to read and understand blueprints including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

• Intermediate to advanced math and computer skills.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Must be a Tosoh SMD grade 11 machinist or have 5-10 years of machining experience which includes CNC machining.

• Ability to manage projects until completion with minimum supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

• Must be able to stand and walk for brief periods of time.
