C-TEC is seeking a qualified and dedicated Long-Term Substitute English Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and continuity of learning during an extended teacher absence. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned to district standards while fostering a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment. Additionally, a desire to work in a collaborative environment, ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, and a recognition of the unique requirements of academic instructors within the career technical education environment are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily instruction in English Language Arts aligned to state standards and district curriculum
- Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the department or develop plans as needed
- Maintain effective classroom management and established routines
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required)
- Valid substitute teaching license or teaching certification (AYA 7-12 Integrated English)
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Preferred Skills
- Experience teaching middle school and/or high school English
- Experience in co-taught or inclusive classroom settings
- Strong adaptability and willingness to support school initiatives
Compensation
- Compensation based on district long-term substitute rate ($115 per day)
