BUS AIDE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school education or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
  • Ability to physically lift and assist students on and off the bus.
  • Ability to lift students or adaptive equipment weighing 50-75 pounds.
  • Knowledge of bus safety for all children.
  • Successfully complete and pass a BCII and FBI check
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ride the bus to student stops each morning and afternoon each day.
  • Assist students on and off the bus securing all equipment or seat belts as needed.
  • Assist driver to correctly position and secure students in seats or children in wheelchairs before they are mechanically lifted on or off the bus.
  • Assist in maintaining student discipline and safety.
  • Supervise student activity and behavior with the driver. 
  • Communicate with teacher(s), Principal, parents, driver and Director of Transportation Services.
  • Any related and reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation Services.
  • Be supportive of your district.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      
  • Remainder of the 2024-2025 School Year
  • Approximately 6-8 hours daily  
  • Hourly wage as per negotiated agreement (LACE)
